Karavostasi Beach

Karavostasi beach, situated in the village of Kalo Chorio within the Mirabelo province, is renowned for its serene beauty and tranquil atmosphere. Nestled approximately 12 kilometers southeast of Agios Nikolaos and 22 kilometers north of Ierapetra, this beach offers a picturesque blend of pebbles, sand, and rocky seabeds, complemented by the shade of numerous tamarisk trees.

Accessible via an asphalt road originating from Istron, visitors can easily reach the beach, where remnants of old warehouses, known as chionas, harken back to its historical significance as a shipping hub for agricultural products. A dirt road extends along the coastline, bordered by crops due to urban planning restrictions and proximity to the archaeological site of Priniatikos Pyrgos. While the beach lacks extensive tourist facilities, its untouched charm and calm waters make it an ideal spot for relaxation.
