Lang Biang Mountain Hike

You can explore two destinations at Da Lat’s tallest peak, Lang Biang Mountain - one to the radar station base and another to the summit. The radar station summit is located at the 1,929m mark and is the main tourist area. The top offers a picturesque vista of the surrounding peaks. The second trail is a steep, uphill climb of 4 km to the actual summit of the mountain at 2,167m. It takes around 2 hours to reach the summit, from where you can get a panoramic view of the adjacent areas.

The path to the radar station is also motorable by cars and bikes. You can pose with the several ‘Lang Biang’ signs at the top. The flat top covered in rolling green pastures is ideal to walk barefoot, sit and relax, and has an extended photoshoot with the view in the background. You may even spot horses grazing. There is a restaurant at the top that serves food and drinks. There are several thatched gazebos as well where you can rest and take pictures. 

The route to the summit is untarnished and does not cater as much to tourists, making it ideal for nature lovers. The trail starts comparatively easy but gets difficult after the first checkpoint. From thereon, a steep dirt track leads into a narrower and rockier path through the thick foliage. The track is sometimes muddy and slippery, but there are steps built with wooden boards for the safety of the trekkers. It is not risky terrain-wise, but you need to be prepared to sweat a lot in the Vietnamese humidity. You will also require to carry more water than you think.
