Located near Dalhousie in the Chamba District of Himachal Pradesh, the Chamera Lake also known as Chamba Lake is the man-made reservoir for the Chamba Dam. The Himachal Pradesh Department of Tourism organises several water sports at Chamera Lake, including boating, river rafting, kayaking and canoeing; there are lifeguards on site. The banks of the lake are ideal for setting up a picnic, especially between March and June, when the weather is quite pleasant. Surrounded by mountains on all sides, the lake is also perfect for nature photography. There are food stalls around the lake that sell snacks and beverages.
