Maldevta

Maldevta, located in Shripur, 18 km away from the ISBT, is a popular vacation spot in Dehradun. It offers one of the vistas of nature’s perfection, with the great Himalayas in the backdrop, the pristine Song River gurgling through thick shrubberies and little birds hopping and chirping about the area.

Visitors are many during the summer months, as people often come to take a chilling and refreshing dip in the river. The grandeur of the river is not the lone attraction. You can indulge in a little adventure and trek through the thick wilderness. You can also take strolls and observe birds on the go. A temple sits, most solemnly on the lap of nature, adding to the grandiosity of the land. Maldevta is also famous among the campers. However, as the place is thickly populated with flora and fauna, campers are advised to come in groups, as wild animals tend to come out of their hideout after sunset. The place is indeed one of the most tranquil, without marks of human encroachment. Picnickers should avoid cooking inside the premises. Instead, they are encouraged to bring packed lunch from one of the many takeaways en-route.
