Namche Bazar, Dharan Overview

Namje Bazar or Namche Bazar is famous for its weekly market and lodging amidst scenic surroundings. The place is located at an altitude of over 3500 metres and, therefore, is also popular amongst serious trekking. Several major trekking trails pass through the Bazar.

The location is considered as an excellent acclimatization point to adjust to the environmental change as trekkers climb higher altitudes. Those heading to the Everest Base Camp often make a pitstop here. The weekly market that makes it a great attraction for tourists is the Tibetan Market, which is operational only on Saturdays. Here, one can purchase clothing, accessories, décor items, jewellery, etc. at affordable rates.
