Gold Souq, Doha Overview
There are two gold souks in Doha. The new Gold Souq located near Souq Waqif, is a market with about 50 gold shops full of exquisite, pocket-friendly jewellery. The market deals mainly in 22-carat gold jewellery, but platinum, silver and pearls are also available. The best jewellery to buy in this souq as a souvenir from Qatar is a gold pendant with one's name on it in Arabic. There is also an older souq just behind the Karwa bus station.
