Katara Cultural Village is a maze of cobblestone pathways and alleys reminiscent of a very traditional souq. It houses some of the best artworks in the country as well as a community of creative people. A visit here can really rejuvenate your artistic senses. The art forms represented here are extraordinary as most of Qatar’s artistic talents are concentrated here with headquarters for Qatar Fine Arts Society, Visual Arts Centre, Qatar Photographic Society, and the Music Academy all in one place.
Katara also has an opera house which is the home of the Qatar Philharmonic Orchestra, a drama theatre, and an open amphitheater that can seat about 5000 people. Browse through the many handicraft and book stalls to get souvenirs and paraphernalia. There is also a 1.5 km purpose-built beach inside the village for some watersports and beach sports.
