Lying back to back both the Gurteen Bay and Dogs Bay in Connemara form a tombolo which is a sight to marvel at. The region is renowned for its rare archaeological, ecological and geological features. Both bays are well-shelled from the mildly volatile currents and make for a perfect swimming spot for kids and other watersports activities such as kitesurfing and windsurfing.
