The Church of Saint Cajetan, located in Old Goa close to the Se Cathedral, is one of the most beautiful churches in Goa. It is the church of the Roman Catholic Archdiocese of Goa and Daman built in the second half of the 17th century. The only surviving domed structure in Goa, the church is admired for its wonderful and graceful architecture that reminds you of Basilica of St. Peter in Rome.
Initially called the Church of Our Lady of Divine Providence, it is a part of the World heritage site, churches, and convents. It is named after the founder of the Theatine order, St. Cajetan even though the church is dedicated to Our Lady of Divine Providence. Inside the church on the left, there are three altars dedicated to the Holy Family, Our Lady of Piety and St.Clare and the right-side altars are dedicated to St. Agnes, St. Cajetan and St. John. Though the building is 300 years old, it has been wonderfully preserved and is still visited in large numbers by Catholic devotees and tourists alike.
