Currumbin Wildlife Sanctuary organizes various events that appeal to the visitors of all ages.

1. WildSkies Bird Show:
Timings: 11:20 AM and 2:30 PM
Marvel at the sight of the Wedge-tailed eagle, the largest bird of prey in the region, Pelican and bright-coloured parrots as they fly in a natural setting. At the end of the show, you also get an opportunity to get clicked with the exotic birds.

2. Lorikeet Feeding:
Timings: 8:00 AM and 4:00 PM
Meet the most colourful birds of Australia and feed them. The Lorikeets are not afraid of humans. They are also the reasons way this sanctuary came into existence.These birds eat from your hand and also rest on the head. It is an amazing experience and you can watch this for free. 

3. Aboriginal Dance Show:
Timings: 3:30 PM
You are invited to immerse in the authentic Aboriginal culture and get a taste of their music and stories through this show. The show presents the Yugambeh Aboriginal Dancers who celebrate their culture through dance.

4. Australiana Show:
Timings: 10:45 AM and 2:00 PM
This is one of the most popular shows in the sanctuary. During the show, you get to witness the ‘Gun Shearer’ while he shears a Marino woolly sheep. After the show ends, you get an opportunity to meet him and his pet. Stick around and you can take a picture holding a snake. 

5. Pelican and Eel Show:
Timings: 9:30 AM
This is an underrated show but it is quite unique. Get wild with the pelicans as well as the giant eels that come along the bank during the feeding time. The feeders give detailed information while they await a meal.

6. Blinky Bill’s Adventure:
Timings: 10:00 AM
Get your imaginations soaring with the Blinky Bill’s Adventure Show. It is a fast-paced show where the hero Blinky Bill and the wildlife host rehearse scenes from their television shows. This is perfect for the kids where they can have fun and feel the adventure. You can also take photos with Blinky after the show.

7. Big Fang Show:
Timings: 1:00 PM
This show introduces you to some of the deadliest snakes and reptiles. There is an opportunity to take a wild picture if you dare. Timings: 10:45 AM, Everyday 8. Crocodile Show This show will give you a glimpse of the largest saltwater crocodiles along with the freshwater ones. Once the show ends, you also get to click a picture holding a snake.

Animals at Currumbin Wildlife Sanctuary

This iconic heritage zoo host native Australian birds and animals. The highlight of the park is the furry koalas which makes it a great spot for foreign visitors. Here you can also spot the Echidnas, Wombats and Dingoes. There is a massive open enclosure and you can walk amongst the Kangaroos and Wallabies. Apart from these animals, you can also watch the Lorikeets, Pelicans, Cotton-Top Tamarins, Red Pandas, Crocodiles, Lemurs and reptiles of Lost Valley.

1. Koala Picture Time

2. Koala Nursery Visit

Enter the enclosure with a professional keeper and get a closer look at the gorgeous critters. The visit also includes a favourite moment captured with one of the grown-ups.

3. Koala Experience
Timings: 11:00 AM and 3:15 PM,

Get personal with the cutest icons of Australia. Learn quirky facts about the Koalas and enjoy a special tour to meet the Koala families. At the end of the tour, you get to pose with the Aussie legends and take a professional photograph.

4. Capybara Encounter
Timings: Tuesday, Thursday, Saturday, Sunday: 2:00 PM,

If you find the guinea pigs cute, wait until you see the Capybaras. They are the largest rodents in the world. You also get to enter the enclosure and feed them while learning weird facts. Did you know Capybaras eat poo?

5. Feeding Cotton Top Tamarins

Meet a troop of cute Cotton Top Tamarins and feed them while learning interesting facts. All participants must be above 8 years of age.

6. Dingo Walk

Meet Meccano, the adorable, kind-natured possum who loves to get cuddled. You can also feed and click a photo with this little marsupial.

11. Segway Safari

A Segway Safari through the park is a nice way to soak up the lush surrounding. This form of transportation uses powerful technology and carry visitors weighing 45 kilograms and above. 

12. Treetop Challenge
Experience a day of thrill and action with a total of 80 massive treetop challenges that includes 11 crazy ziplines. All safety equipment will be provided and it is performed under the guidance of qualified trainers.

13. Wildlife Hospital Tour 
Timings: Tuesday - Thursday: 11:00 AM,
Cost: AUD 500 (includes 4 entry tickets to the sanctuary)
Spend an hour in one of the busiest animal hospitals in the world. It is a private tour where the entire group will learn about medical care, watch surgeries and explore the rehabilitation center.

How to Reach Currumbin Wildlife Sanctuary

Currumbin Wildlife Sanctuary is situated in 28 Tomewin Street, Currumbin, Queensland. Currumbin has an efficient road network and transportation facility. Hence, visiting the sanctuary is easy and hassle-free.
By Bus: Surfside Buslines have a pickup and drop off zone that is at a few minutes distance from the sanctuary. Bus number 700, 760 and 765 arrives at the location every 20 minutes.
By Tram: If you are travelling from Surfers Paradise, get a tram up to Broadbeach South Station and from there you can take a bus to reach the sanctuary.
By Road: If you are coming from the southern direction, turn to Gold Coast Highway at Coolangatta. Drive through the road and take right at the signal on Tomewin Street. If you are coming from the northern direction, take the Gold Coast Highway and take left to Tomewin Street. If you are taking M1 Motorway, turn to exit 95 and go towards Stewart Road. Finally, take the turn to Gold Coast Highway and then take right to Tomewin Street.
