Carmen de Los Martires is a hidden oasis located in Granada, Spain, offering tourists with baroque gardens equipped fountains, lakes, avst gardens and statues. Visitors can stroll through the lush gardens, take in the stunning views of the city and the Sierra Nevada Mountains.
This historic site was originally built in the mid-19th century as a private residence for a wealthy Frenchman, but has since been converted into a public park and cultural center. The Carmen de Los Martires was built by French architect and landscaper Jean Claude Nicolas Forestier, who was also responsible for designing many of the city's other public parks and gardens. The residence was originally commissioned by the wealthy Frenchman, Charles Maurice Héctor, who wanted a grand home with magnificent gardens to show off his wealth and status. Today, the Carmen de Los Martires is one of the most popular tourist attractions in Granada.
