The Santo Domingo Church is located in the Realejo neighborhood. The church has a beautiful stone portico entrance and an impressive bell tower. The interiors are made stunning, with high ceilings, a domed sanctuary, and artwork. It is beautifully designed in Baroque style.
Santo Domingo Church was founded in the 16th century by Iglesia de Santo Domingo during the Catholic monarchy. Considered as one of the most special churches in Granada, it also is a part of the Santa Cruz la Real Monastery. This church is an amalgamation of various styles like Baroque, late Renaissance as well as Gothic. There is a stone portico with three arches in the entrance of the church and the Doric columns, The initials of Isabella and Ferdinand, the emperor, their shield along with their motto "Tanto monta" are in the centre. There is a Latin cross layout which has five chapels on each style. Most of the decorative elements are built in Baroque style, while most of its domes and arches are Gothic. The columns, carnices and windows are Romanesque. There is one convent built right next to the bell tower beside the main entrance. the was founded by the Catholic kings in 1512
