The second-largest state park in New York State and a mere hour away from NYC is the Harriman State Park. A natural wonder. This state park is surrounded by numerous other protected areas and provides a delightful experience to visitors seeking a natural haven.
The only costs in the park are for vehicle use and thus, a trip to this park is budget-friendly. The area under the park has more than 40 marked trails and 57 unmarked ones, some of the most famous including the Appalachian Trail and Long Path. The park also includes horse and biking trails for those so inclined. Open from dusk till dawn throughout the week, Harriman State Park also includes 32 lakes and ponds, each offering splendid hiking or camping spots.
