Old Market Hall Helsinki

Old Market Hall is Helsinki's oldest covered market, located at Eteläranta near the Market Square in the Kaartinkaupunki district. It offers a diverse selection of fresh produce, seafood, meats, cheeses, and baked goods. The hall's cozy cafés and eateries are also noted as perfect spots for a casual meal or coffee break. Since its opening in 1889, it has been a vibrant hub for both locals and tourists, offering a rich array of Finnish delicacies and international specialties. Designed by architect Gustaf Nyström, the Old Market Hall showcases a historic redbrick exterior characteristic of late 19th-century architecture. The interior features wooden stalls and ornate ironwork, creating a warm and inviting atmosphere. The hall underwent significant renovations between 2012 and 2014 to modernize its facilities while preserving its historic charm.
