Diamond Head is part of the system of cones, vents, and their associated eruption flows that are collectively known to geologists as theÊHonolulu Volcanic Series, eruptions from theÊKo_olau VolcanoÊthat took place long after the volcano formed and had gone dormant.
Diamond Head is the name of a volcanic tuff cone on the Hawaiian island of O_ahu and known to Hawaiians as L__ahi, the term is divided in two names lae and 'ahi, meaning lae 'browridge, promontory' plus _ahi 'tuna' because the shape of the ridgeline resembles the shape of a tuna's dorsal fin. It is a fun place to go to with family and kids.
