Night Sledding, Interlaken Overview

Night sledding in Interlaken offers a thrilling winter adventure in the Swiss Alps. Participants are transported from Interlaken to the mountain village of Isenfluh, located approximately 10 kilometers south of the city center. From there, a gondola ride takes visitors to Sulwald, the starting point of the sled run. The activity is popular for its unique combination of nighttime mountain scenery and the excitement of sledding down a 4.6-kilometer trail. It is conducted typically from December to March, depending on snow conditions.

The sledding experience lasts about an hour, during which the trail winds through snow-covered forests, alpine meadows, and past frozen waterfalls. Participants are provided with sleds and receive a safety briefing from professional guides before beginning the descent. The track is unlit, but visibility is sufficient due to the snow's reflection of ambient light. After the sled run, many tours include a traditional Swiss meal, such as fondue, at a local restaurant.
