Alsancak, Izmir Overview

Alsancak is a lively, laidback neighborhood in Izmir, starting near the historic Konak Square, and stretches along the 3,200-meter-long seaside street and promenade known as "Kordon." it features numerous restaurants, bars, cafes, and entertainment venues especially in restored traditional buildings within the inner streets. Kibris Sehitleri Caddesi is the most popular street here known for its vibrant atmosphere and shopping opportunities.

The oldest railway station in Turkey, built by the Oriental Railway Company in 1858, is located here. One of İzmir's urban ferry terminals, Alsancak Quay offering ferry services between Konak, Pasaport, and Karşıyaka on the opposite coast, is also in this neighborhood. It is especially known for attractions such as Kordon, Kültürpark, Shar Hashamayim Synagogue, and  Atatürk Museum.
