Architecture of the Glass Temple

World’s first Hindu Glass Temple, Arulmigu Sri Rajakaliamman Temple radiates light magnificently from its gem crystal fixtures that fills the entire aura of the temple including the entryway, roofs, dividers and columns of the sanctuary.

Nearly ninety percent of the Glass Temple is decked with 300,000 glass mosaics of red, yellow, green, blue, purple and white color, with a crystal chandelier hanging from the ceiling.
The motto and preaching of the various murals and sculptures presented in the Glass Temple significantly presents the message of unity with social harmony amongst all.
The centerpiece in this Hindu sanctuary is a lotus with Lord Shiva sitting on it, on which enthusiasts and believers can pour rose water and offer their prayers.
Near the roof, 10 gold finished sculptures can be found which depict the message of the cycle of life – from birth, youth, adulthood, to maturity and to death.
While being a Hindu Temple, the presence of 10 standing white marble statues of messengers of God from several faiths – like that of Gautam Buddha, Guru Nanak Dev, Sai Baba, Jesus Christ, and Mother Teresa.
The other highlight of the Temple are the two large panels of murals painted on the ceiling that spread across the message of universal social and racial harmony.

The Arulmigu Sri Rajakaliamman Glass Temple is set on 22 Lorong 1, Jalan Tebrau in Johor Bahru and is reachable through Jalan Tun Abdul Razak and the lane that borders Gim Shew Building. It is walkable from the city center of Johor Bahru.

The easiest and the most convenient way to reach the Glass Temple is by hiring a cab from Johor Bahru’s city center to the destination, where a single trip costs around RM 6 – RM 8.2.

Alternatively, board a Public shuttle bus or KTM train from Johor Bahru to Wadi Hana bus and train station, and from there hire a cab to reach the destination.
