Kailash Parbat, Khajjiar Overview
Kailash Parbat or Mount Kailash, part of the Kailash Range, is a 6,638m sacred mountain located in China’s Tibet Autonomous Region. While visiting it requires completing a complicated procedure, the massive snow-clad peak is visible from a few locations in India, specifically in Himachal Pradesh, including Khajjiar Ground and Dainkund Peak. On a clear day, the open Khajjiar Ground (Chamba) provides an exceptional peak view, better through binoculars. On the other hand, a trek up Dainkund Peak (in Dalhousie), which is about 2 hours long, will offer majestic views of Kailash Parbat along with the surrounding snow-covered Pir Panjal ranges.
