The Knysna Elephant Park is the primary location to see African elephants closely and interact safely with them. It is located just off the N2 between Knysna and Plettenberg Bay. There is a special elephant experience with informative displays and photographs followed by a hike that follows them as they journey through the park.
Established in 1994, it was the first location to care for orphaned and endangered African elephants. Their present herd has eight elephants. There is also a restaurant and gift shop in the park. Accommodations directly overlooking the elephants’ resting area are also available.
