The Museum of Kerala History is located in the city of Kochi, Kerala, India. Founded in 1987, this museum is a treasure trove of historical artifacts, artworks, and exhibits that chronicle the rich history and culture of Kerala. One of the oldest art and history museums in Kerala, the Museum of Kerala History is managed by the Madhavan Nayar Foundation. The Museum is divided into three galleries - the Museum of Kerala History, the Dolls Museum, and the Gallery of Modern Art. Of these, the Museum of Kerala History is the oldest and the most popular.
The Museum of Kerala History recounts the lives of 87 people who made a major contribution to Kerala's history. The exhibits in this gallery include models of ancient temples and palaces, traditional costumes, paintings, sculptures, antique weapons, and coins from different periods of history.
The museum also has a section dedicated to the traditional art forms of Kerala, such as Kathakali and Mohiniyattam. The museum also offers a light and sound show that runs every half an hour from 10:00 AM to 5:00 PM. Additionally, visitors can take a guided tour to explore the museum's collection and learn about the history of Kerala.
