Kokaikanal is a perfect destination to beat the heat in Tamil Nadu. There are vibrant markets selling beautiful earrings, bracelets and necklaces at a very low price. I personally bought a lot of jew (Read More)elry. And if you are a chocolate lover don't forget to try and buy different varieties of chocolates. Just a mere glance at them will make you drool.

Located in the state of Tamil Nadu, Kodaikanal is one of the most famous honeymoon destinations in India. When you think of Kodaikanal, you think of a wonderful climate, cliffs covered in mist, cloud (Read More)-capped mountains and beautiful lakes and valleys, and once you visit this hill station, you will find that every bit of what you have imagined it to be is true. Nestled amidst the rolling slopes of the Palani Hills in Tamil Nadu, Kodaikanal stands at an altitude of 7200 feet above sea level and has a cool, pleasant climate all year round. Kodaikanal means the gift of the forests.

The best part of this place is the pleasant climate. In order to experience the hilly area, going by car is the best option. Bus facility is also available, but I remember having a bad stomach after (Read More)bus journey up the hill. The right time to travel to this place is in the summers. There are a number of structures which includes the four pillar structure. The hotels are going to be a little expensive. One cannot find a decent hotel with rent below Rs.1000. Botanical gardens are also a must see in kodaikanal. Trekking is also a good experience here.

You can trek to Dolphin's nose, which is around 8km from Kodaikanal and then trek on from there to Kumabakarai, which is around another 12 km. The reverse trek however takes more time and is a little (Read More) more difficult. Or you could ride till Vattakanal in a jeep and start your trek from Dolphin's nose.
