There are no banks or ATMs on Koh Rong Sanloem, and you have to take a 10-minute speed boat to go to the neighbouring island Koh Rong for cash. Also, cards are not accepted in any booking or restaurants. So it's better to carry enough cash.
If you are planning for a day trip from Sihanoukville city, it's better to start early as there are plenty of things to do and return boat trips close around sunset every day.
How To Reach Koh Rong Samloem
Koh Rong Samloem is located about 25km from the city centre and you can take a ferry to reach there from Serendipity Pier or Ochheuteal Pier. There are 5 ferry services available per day to Koh Rong Samloem from Sihanoukville. You can get down at Koh Touch on Koh Rong or Saracen Bay on Koh Rong Samloem. These ferries take about 40 minutes to reach. The cost is 25 USD per person. There are much cheaper slow boat services as well to Koh Rong Samloem departing from the piers at Serendipity beach, Victory beach and the local port of Sihanoukville. These slow boats take about 2 hours to reach depending on the weather and sea conditions.
