Kitesurfing in Koh Samui

With an average temperature of 25 degrees Celsius and a wind range of 8-20 knots, the beaches of Koh Samui are ideal for kitesurfing between December and April. Nathon, Hua Thanon, Chaweng, Lipa Noi, and Taling Ngam are perfect for beginners, whereas Thong Krut Bay, Lamai, Ban Harn, and Mae Nam are the top spots for intermediates. Some resorts have their private beach dedicated to the activity as well.

There are several kitesurfing schools in Koh Samui that rent out kiteboards and offer basic guidance on the best spots to target. You can also take a course at the schools to get a better grip on the adventure sport. The lessons can take from 6-8 hours to 3 days, depending on the level you choose. The schools follow the rules, equipment standards, and the qualification of professional instructors as determined by the International Kiteboarding Organization.
