The Stone works museum of Fine Minaret is housed in a 13th century Madrasa called Ince Minareli Madrasa. Located in Konya, it is an ideal example of Anatolian Seljuk architecture and is known for its domed courtyard, bricked minaret and ornate entrance. The artwork of the museum mostly consists of wood and stone artifacts from the Seljuk period.
It was built between 1260 - 1265 by Fakhr al-Din Ali, who was one of the major patrons of architecture in Konya. The architecture of the museum consists of intricate artwork, including motifs of elephants, leopards, birds, lions, angels and so on. The original minaret of the museum was exceptionally tall and thin and is adorned with Seljuk blue tiles, however was destroyed by a lightning strike in 1901. The building previously had a main hall, a pool of water, with rooms used for living quarters. It has now been renovated and houses Konya’s stone carvings and wooden artifacts.
