Alikes Salt lake, or the Tigaki Salt Pan, is located near Tigaki village on the Northern Coast, on the way from Tigaki to Marmari. It is a saltwater wetland surrounding a lagoon and was formerly used for common salt production but was later abandoned. It is now a protected wildlife refuge regularly visited by migratory birds, water snakes, and rare local fauna. Birdwatching is a popular activity here, and the flocks of flamingos are a natural attraction.
There’s also a picturesque view of the salt lake extending into the horizon, where you can watch a beautiful sunset. The salt lake is accessible by walk or an ATV but is not connected through public transportation. There are paths alongside the lake and in the middle to walk through, but the Eastern side of the salt lake gets boggy, and it is advisable to wear appropriate footwear. There are no refreshment facilities available near the lake.
