The main college of the oldest university in the city, Jagiellonian University, Collegium Maius, attracts several tourists. It has several noteworthy attractions that truly represent the past, present, and future of Kraków. It has two main sections: Library and the botanical garden.
It features everything you can image that is related to the field of science and education.. Libraria, formerly the university library, is the first one. It showcases reconstructed instruments that were once used by mathematician and astronomer Nicholas Copernicus. These can be explored through an exhibition, which can be guided or unguided. The guided tours can be extended and you get to see collection of further sophisticated scientific instruments.
The Botanical Garden is the oldest existing botanical garden in Poland. It stretches on almost 10 hectares. It has about 8 thousand species and varieties of plants. The Nature Education Centre marks the establishment of the Natural History Cabinet. Its collections date back to 1782, and consist of over half a million specimens today.
