Believed to be the resting place of King Krakus, the mythical founder of Kraków, Krakus Mound, is a 16 meter high summit is known for its stunning visuals of the city of Kraków. The cliffs of Krzemionki surrounding it and the fields of Płaszów add to the natural aesthetic of the place.
It is full of fresh green grass. While no grave has been found, this remains to be a part of the folklore. It was apparently created by a Slavonic colony sometime between the latter half of the 7th century and the early 10th century. It is the highest point in Kraków with an altitude of 271 meters above the sea level. It is one of the only two prehistoric mounds in Kraków.
