Surrounding the Old Town of Kraków, is the Planty Park. It is the largest park in Kraków. An epitome of natural beauty, with lush green grass, the park comprises several smaller parks, all interconnected through a paved walkway, with hundreds of benches overlooking the town.
Each of these parks are lined with several monuments and fountains. These monuments are dedicated to Jadwiga and Jagiełło, Artur Grottger, Mikołaj Kopernik, Grażyna and Litawor, and Tadeusz Boy-Żeleński. These are rulers, painters, scholars, and even epic characters, who have contributed to the history and culture of Poland.
Visitors come here to take a walk while admiring the beauty of the Town. You will pass several charming university buildings and churches as you walk around. The south side of the park is especially famous for the Wawel Hill. You can also meet friendly locals here who come to walk their dogs. People also choose to sit and relax in the gardens for a picnic!
