The Himalayan Nature Park Kufri Zoo, or simply Kufri Zoo, is an extremely green space, filled with trees like deodar, fir, blue pine, and spruce, dedicated to the conservation and welfare of wildlife. Set at an altitude of 2,350 to 2,730 m above sea level, it comprises seven open enclosures, three display cages, and two pheasantries with 15 pens of different shapes for animals like Sambar, Barking deer, Musk deer, Black Bear, etc.
The enclosures are suited to the needs of animals and have caves, trees, logs, night sheds, etc., to provide weather protection. The zoo’s veterinary section is well-equipped with an X-ray facility, hospital, laboratory, quarantine house, and more.
