Kuwait House of National Works

Kuwait House of National Works, Kuwait City Overview

Kuwait House of National Works is an ode to the Kuwait citizens, military and allied forces that were martyred to expel the Iraqi perpetrators from Kuwait. This memorial museum in Shuwaikh captures the morbid period of the first Gulf War in 1990 - 91.

The exhibits comprise a set of crafted city models stamped in time with recordings in both Arabic and English. The Invasion Tunnel recounts the story of Saddam's invasion and annexation of Kuwait, dramatized with light and sound effects. The Hall of Martyrs is a tribute to all the valiant war soldiers, with a special section dedicated to the Allied and NATO forces. The museum also showcases several artefacts, which are remnants of the war. As you walk from one room to another, it's as if the walls resonate with the blasts and machine gun firing, and you cannot come out unperturbed. However, the museum does not stand as evidence of tyranny, but as a beacon of hope that oppression cannot triumph.
