Church of Panagia, Lindos Overview
Church of Panagia is a Greek Orthodox Church situated a few minutes from the central square of Lindos towards the Acropolis road. Built in 1300, the church is an architectural masterpiece with massive walls, stone built facade, red byzantine tiles roofs and a verdant courtyard. There is a small museum behind the church with scriptures and artefacts describing various stories and bible lessons.
Visitors can adore the pebble mosaic, Bishop’s throne, lavish bronze candle chandelier, carved wooden paintings and barrel-vaulted roof inside the church. Depicting the 19th-century frescoes and scenes from the Bible, the church is known for its interiors made in traditional Rhodian architecture.
