Flowing almost all year through the Pacific Crest Trail near Pasadena, the Cooper Canyon Falls is a beautiful snow-fed waterfall in Angeles National Forest, best visited during April and May when the snow melts. The falls mark the end of Burkhart Trail and has a neighboring RV camping ground.
Graced with mature pines, oaks, alders and tropical wildflower groves, the shady canyon and babbling creek boast of giant redwood forests. The enchanting beauty of the old-growth forest and dirt road terrain make it an ideal park for moderate to difficult hiking. Tourists often admire the panoramic views of Cooper Canyon and Pleasant View Ridge from the falls area. Cooper Canyon Falls is also known to have one of the best natural preserves in the Angeles National Forest premises, making it an excellent spot for horseback riding and wildlife watching. In summers, unique migratory birds stop by at the San Gabriel mountain canyons around. At the foot of the falls is a man-made pool with vibrant fish and stones. You can relax and dip your feet in the refreshing, cool water. The campground has ample picnic tables, cozy family tents and a pristine stream behind, acting as a direct source of water.
