The Grand Park in Downtown Los Angeles is amongst the most happening places in the entire city. The 12-acre park is a popular attraction for tourists and locals alike. The park has well shaded sidewalks and good public transport connectivity. The fountain plaza is amongst the main attractions in the park. Shooting water to a height of upto 50 ft, the fountain is illuminated during the night, which makes it popular amongst tourists.
The Grand Park is most famous for the New Year’s Eve celebrations. Attracting around 50,000 visitors in the 2018-2019 event, the park is filled with food trucks and art installations, while also playing host to multiple concerts. A public projection on the City Hall displays various visual works of art, before displaying the countdown into the New Year. In recent times, fireworks have been added, helping it compete with New Year festivities across the globe.
The park is also the location of several high profile concerts and rallies. Artists who have performed here include Jay-Z, Kanye West, John Mayer and Aloe Blacc. Visitors can also visit the Vietnam Veterans memorial and the Pobladores memorials on the park grounds. International memorials include the Ukraine and Armenian genocide memorials are also found in the park.
