The Kenneth Hahn State Recreation Area is a 401-acre state park established in 1984. Located in the hills of Greater Los Angeles, this park was named after Kenneth Hahn, who was instrumental in establishing the park. The park is popular amongst tourists and locals for being a great campsite. Guests here can camp overnight after seeking permission from the park authorities, and can enjoy activities like fishing and hiking. The park is home to nearly 7 miles of trails spread across the park. The most popular trails include the 2.2-mile Burke Roche trail and the 2.6-mile Ridge trail. Fishing enthusiasts can find trout and catfish in the lake.
The park has over 100 picnic tables across multiple areas of the park. The park also has 8 large barbecue pits and 60 smaller ones spread through the park. The park is also home to numerous sports facilities, which makes it a great place for families looking to find a picnic spot amongst the hills of California.
The local flora in the park include the oak woodlands and bunch grasslands, which are native to California. The park is also home to a variety of birds and animals. Bird watchers can visit the park for birdwatching walks conducted by the local Audubon Society chapters.
