Known as the only place in San Bernardino County with fragrant apple orchards that grow a mile high, Oak Glen’s fame comes from its rustic farmlands and berry fields. This census-designated place in California has a close-knit agricultural community who run casual restaurants, chic cafes, cideries and bakeries selling apple pies from one end of town to the other. Oak Glen has a popular shopping district where you can find fresh seasonal goods, homemade snacks, stylish apparel and gifts for loved ones.
The town has one central road that runs across an idyllic valley with the grand Potato Canyon and Wilshire Creek Canyon on either side. Dotted along mature oaks and pines are group camps for travelers, offering sumptuous tents at the foothills of lush green mountains 4000 feet above sea level. You can enjoy wagon rides for sightseeing, live music and kids crafts during weekends. Yucaipa National Park is a hotspot for pedal boating, picnic grills and disc golf along the picturesque beach. From 27th to 29th November each year, the Apple Butter Festival celebrated here is a uniquely native 16th century tradition to harvest winter preserves. This is also a chance to participate in the neighborhood meetings and contribute to the ardent local businesses.
