Ojai

Located northwest of Los Angeles, Ojai city is a hub of tourism atop the valley of Topa Topa Mountains, offering thrilling adventure activities like scenic hikes, trail biking and horseback riding. Built in 1917 in Spanish Colonial Revival fashion, the quaint city is popular for its beautiful boutique hotels, sprawling farms and spiritual retreats. It has an eco-friendly atmosphere away from the hustling city and its chain stores.

Ojai borders the spectacular Los Padres National Park which houses the Lake Casitas Recreation Area, ideal for picnics, boating, fishing and hikes. Kids can have a blast at the water park on site. You can also visit Ojai’s spiritually-focused, mystical sanctuary nicknamed Shangri-La as its theme is an adaptation of James Hilton’s Lost Horizon. Meditation Mount, a wellness-oriented location here, is a tranquil hiking spot with panoramic views of the tropical forests and mountain top vineyards. Nature lovers can also tour the newly established Cluff Vista Park having themed gardens of native Californian flora. Several small businesses owned by residents sell traditional art, souvenirs and local snacks along the banks of Santa Ana Creek. The Ojai Music Festival held after Memorial Day is a 4-day fest to enjoy live classical music performances by America’s top artists.
