Luang Namtha River, Luang Namtha Overview
The Nam Tha is a river located in northwest Laos. It is one of the tributaries of the Mekong River. It has one of the most fertile plains in the province of Luang Namtha province and city of the same name, both deriving their name from this river. The high currents of the rapids make the river a popular spot for water adventure sports including rafting and Kayaking. The name Nam Tha translates to Green River in the local language, due to the green colour of the water.
