Gadagne Museum Lyon

The Gadagne Museum is a historical and cultural museum in Lyon, France, housed in between buildings of the Renaissance era. It has an impressive collection of artifacts showcasing the history, culture, and traditions of Lyon, and exhibits on puppetry, silk weaving, and printing.

It houses a massive collection of over 80,000 objects, including rare manuscripts, and several famous works of art.  The museum also offers several educational programs and events for everyone. One fascinating fact about the Gadagne Museum is that it is home to the world's largest collection of marionettes (puppets) with over 2,500 pieces. The museum's collection includes puppets from around the world, with few as old as of 18th century. Professional puppeteers conduct live puppet shows and tourists are recommended to see this. Another amazing fact about the Gadagne Museum is that it is built on the site of an ancient Roman theater. Visitors can still see the remains today which is in the basement of the museum, where visitors can further explore the archaeological site and learn more about Lyon's ancient history.
