The village and peripheral regions do not have any luxurious hotels or resorts, nor does the village offer a lot many commercial activities or nightlife but it does offer a perfectly placid holiday retreat. Besides surfing other aquatic activities one can explore include snorkelling and scuba diving in its pristine turquoise waters. The Colonia de Sant Pere village also boasts of 5 beautiful golf courses and the S’Albufera Natural Park, the latter being a bird-lovers paradise. The Colonia de Sant Pere village formed around the 19th century after many fled during the Bubonic plague and set up shop in this coastal region.
