A UNESCO World Heritage site, Serra de Tramuntana is a mountain range that forms the northern backbone of Mallorca, the Spanish island. This is an area of great physical and cultural importance. Explore it either on foot or by car.
The north-western coast of Mallorca is dominated by the mountain range of Serra de Tramuntana which forms a contrasting view to the deep blue sea that it overlooks. The pine covered slopes of the mountain lean into the sea. The mountain range of Serra de Tramuntana runs for 88km and there are ten peaks that are more than 1000 m high. This place is best explored on foot as you walk by the narrow trails, smelling rosemary, breathing fresh air and looking at the marvellous pine trees.
