El Caminito del Rey is a 7.7 km long promenade constructed on the gorge walls, providing breathtaking views of the surroundings in Malaga. The boardwalk is renowned for its narrow passages, thrilling heights, and breathtaking views of the El Chorro Canyon. It is a 4-hour trek.
The walkway was initially constructed in the early 20th century for the workers of the nearby hydroelectric power plant. Nonetheless, it was renovated and reopened to the public in 2015 after being left in ruin for years. The trek takes about 3 to 4 hours to complete, and for safety reasons, tourists must wear helmets and harnesses.
Other Objective Information : Pre-booking is essential, and visitors should check the weather forecast beforehand as the walkway may be closed in case of adverse weather conditions.
