What is the best time to visit Maldives?

Even though the Maldives is a year-round destination, the best time to visit is from November to April, a dry season. The southwest monsoons bring in a few days of rainfall between May to October. However, it's essential to note that in the Maldives, rainfall is sporadic even during the wet season, and there are still plenty of sunny days.

Dry Season (November to April):
The Northern Atolls (Haa Alifu, Haa Dhaalu, Shaviyani, Noonu, and Lhaviyani) and Central Atolls (Baa, Kaafu, and Alifu) experience the dry season from November to April. This dry season, with minimal rainfall and lower humidity, is perfect for enjoying the stunning beaches, water activities, and exploring the islands. The Southern Atolls (Gaafu Alifu, Gaafu Dhaalu, and Addu) experience slightly different weather patterns influenced by the southwest monsoons. The dry season typically extends from December to March or April, a bit later than the northern and central atolls.

Wet Season (May to October):
The southwest monsoon, which brings the rainy season to the Maldives, mainly affects the archipelago from May to October. During these months, the weather can be characterized by more frequent rainfall, higher humidity, and stronger winds, particularly in June and July. While the dry season is generally favored for its excellent weather conditions and suitability for water activities, some travelers prefer the offseason for quieter islands, potential discounts, and fewer tourists.
