A commercially active beach in the Konkan region, this beach boasts of huge patches of beautiful white sands and stretches of cashew, mango, and coconut trees. This beach makes Malvan a great getaway. The white sands and blue waters coupled together add a very exotic feel to the place.

Etymology

There are some stories which are related to the name 'Malvan'. Earlier Salt producers used the term 'Mahalavan' to describe a region rich in salt, a compound word from' maha' meaning 'great' and 'Lavan' meaning plantation (salt) through which the place derived its name. Another possibility was with the words 'mad' and 'ban' meaning trees and garden respectively as Malvan has a lot of coconut trees around it.

Malvan trip was really good.There were a lot of water sports activities to try but I really enjoyed the scuba diving. I was scared in the beginning as I am not a good swimmer actually I never swim in (Read More) the sea before so. But the experts and trainers guided me and their instructions helped me a lot.When I was inside the water, believe me, it was so beautiful to see the marine life a completely new world of beauty. I will plan to visit again. Thanks to Sea Water Sports make my trip was memorable.
