John Rylands Library is considered to be one of the oldest gems in the city of Manchester. It is considered a masterpiece with a Victorian Gothic style of architecture and it is any book lover's dream place. It is located on Deansgate at present, it is part of the University of Manchester Library.
Opened in 1900, the library was founded by Enriqueta Augustina Rylands in the memory of her husband, John Rylands. This library is one of the only five libraries dedicated to National research. It contains more than 4 million printed books and manuscripts and over 50000 electronic books. An hour-long digital session on zoom can be booked to view some of the special collections. Such kind of in-person appointments also can be booked, in advance, at the library by visiting within opening hours. This place is totally a book lover's paradise.
Other Useful Objective Information : Last entry to the library is 20 minutes before closing time. Digital appointments can be made at 11am, 2 pm and 3 pm from Monday to Friday.
