Sitajakhala, Morigaon Overview
Sitajakhala is a famous ancient temple discovered during the last year of the fourth decade of last century. Nestled on the banks of River Killing, the temple is adorned with many idols of Goddess Sita and Lord Hanuman.
As per the popular myth, Valmiki built the stone steps for Goddess Sita, going up to River Killing for her convenience. Hence, the steps were named Sita Jakhala.
