Here are the top 2 places to visit in Tamarin & Riviere Noire

Dotted with beaches, Riviere Noire is a little district located on the west coast of Mauritius and holds the record for being the district with the smallest population in the entire country. Situated right next to River Noire is another little village known as Tamarin, which boasts of being home to Tamarin Beach, one of the most beautiful beaches in all of Mauritius.

Riviere Noire directly translates to 'Black River', and the reason for the village being named so lies in the fact that this district is one of the driest places in all of Mauritius. Even before gaining a reputation as a renowned tourist destination, Tamarin was famous among locals for its beautiful surfing waves. Even today, years after other beaches in and around the village have taken over as more popular beaches; Tamarin continues to draw tourists for its laid-back vibe and its surfing spots.

How to Reach
The easiest route to get to Tamarin and Riviere Noire is by taking your car out on a drive through the M2 freeway. Since they are located in close proximity to each other, you will have to first get off the M2 onto the A3 at the Phoenix - Beau Songes Link, and follow up with the Avenue des Jacarandas to reach Tamarin, from where you will be required to get back up on the A3 and travel further southwards to reach Riviere Noire.
