Chandrakona, Midnapore Overview
Chandrakona is another such town, very close to Medinipur. The town has some of the most magnificent sites found in the entire district. These include the Fort of Ramgarh and Lalgarh, built by the Chauhan kings.
The Palace of King Chandraketu is another very prominent attraction of this town. While in the town, you may also want to visit the ancient Mahadev Temple. The temple has a long history of destruction and was later rebuilt by a Brdwan King. The Khirpai Temple, the Lal Ji Temple and ruins of Sobha Singha's Fort are yet more attractions that will be worth your while. Even though the place has numerous sites to offer, they all can be visited easily in a matter of few hours.
