Kimolos Island is a neighbouring island located about 1 km away from Milos via a ferry. Chorio traditional village is the main town centre on the island, lined with Greecian whitewashed houses with blue doors built in Cycladic architecture. Kimolos island is home to some of the most picturesque syrmatas and sandy beaches, and a 14th-century Venetian castle in Chorio is a must-visit.
The Archaeological Museum of Kimolos and the Folklore and Maritime Museum are two museums displaying the ancient life and history of Kimolos. Enjoy a short hike to Skiadi, a mushroom-shaped natural monument on Sklavos Hill. Visit the famous Kimolos Windmills on Mount Xaplovouni. It is also home to several Post Byzantine churches. Several restaurants and hotels are located across the island.
