Thiorichia Beach is an abandoned sulphur mine beach located in Theorichio on the Eastern harbour of Milos. The beach has a vibrant setting with naturally red and yellow rocks and crystal clear waters amidst the sulphur smell. Hike a stretch of the unpaved path extending a few kilometres to reach the beach. Several off-road vehicles and boat tours are organised for easy access to the beach.
Time travel to ancient Greece with a magnificent view of mining complexes surrounding the main beach area. The sulphur mines on the beach were built back in 1862. The mining complex holds abandoned stone buildings with heavy mining equipment, old wagon rails, and some housing facilities. Visit the Milos Mining Museum on the Adamas Port to understand the rich mining history of the island.
Tips : There are no toilets or shops onsite.
